Wendy serves in the People Encouraging People Ministry of Riverlakes Community Church as a lay counselor and as director of the Passionate Heart Ministry, which offers Christ-centered curriculum-based support groups for women who were wounded by childhood sexual abuse, who struggle with eating disorders, emotional issues, dysfunctional relationships, or emotional abuse. She also serves on the curriculum writing team for her church and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She has also served on the developmental teams for Marriage Ministries and People Encouraging People. Wendy has been married for 42 years and is the mother of five grown children and six grandchildren who nicknamed her "Jam." She and her husband, Joel reside in Bakersfield, California.
